Doughnut Mastopexy
Mastopexy is the procedure wherein loose and excess skin from the breast is removed to make it appear firm and give it a lift. Doughnut mastopexy is a technique practiced in breast lift surgery that involves making two circular incisions close to the areola and excising the doughnut shaped part of the skin, taking away loose skin along with it. This technique offers a significantly faster recovery time with minimal scarring compared to the traditional anchor technique. A downside of this technique might be the wrinkling of skin around the nipple, caused by a considerable difference in the circumference of the areola and the amount of adjacent skin to be re-attached. However the benefits of this surgery far outweigh its risks. Doughnut mastopexy can be done along with breast augmentation.
