Buttocks Lift
The old saying, "If the barn needs painting, paint it," has been taken to new levels in modern society, as beauty-conscious men and women have gone from make-up, to clothes, to actual body modification, or plastic surgery to enhance their looks. A new phenomenon is a buttocks lift performed to enhance and reshape the patient's derriere. The various forms of buttocks surgeries increased in the U.S. from slightly more than 600 per year in 2002 to more than 3,000 in 2008. The procedure does call for a general anesthetic and approximately 2 hours in the operating room; and costs can range from $4,000 to $15,000. However, the procedure includes lifting and tightening the skin of the buttocks to enhance its appearance, and many patients enjoy both physical and psychological benefits from the procedure.
